🎤 LIFT Eligibility Criteria

 

• Must be 19+ in age

• Applicants must be female vocalists, either as a solo artist or performing with their own band or backing musicians.

• Must reside in the Greater Toronto Area. (Toronto, York, Durham, Peel, Halton or Hamilton)

• Must be available to perform on October 5, 2025 (event day) and December 12, 2025 (if selected as the winner).

• We’re focusing on Top 40 hits in the rock and pop genres, from the 1960s to today. While we love all kinds of music, we’re keeping the vibe consistent for this event  so please choose a rock or pop cover within that range. These genres are the roots of many modern musical styles — so if your sound leans into areas like  alternative, new country, soul, funk, or R&B but is rooted in rock or pop, it may still be a great fit! Please note: only cover songs will be accepted — no original music for this showcase.

• 1–4 sentences about what inspired you to apply and what this opportunity means to you.

• A link to your audition video Please Note: Audition videos will only be accepted through the following platforms: 📺 YouTube (Public or Unlisted link), 📁 Google Drive (Make sure link sharing is enabled), 🔗 Direct link to a Facebook or Instagram video post (must be viewable without login)

• Important: For your audition video, backing tracks are permitted, though live accompaniment is strongly preferred. However, if selected to perform at the LIFT event, your live performance must include live accompaniment — no backing tracks will be permitted. If you don’t have a band to accompany you, Raquel’s Riot can provide one on the day of the event if selected.

📅 Event Details for Selected Performers:

• Performance Date: October 5, 2025 between 12pm-4:30pm

• Performance Time Slot: Between 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM ( schedule will be provided in advance)

• Location: The Port Credit Legion Riverview Hall (35 Front St N Mississauga ON)

• Family-Friendly Requirement: All performances must be appropriate for all ages — no offensive language or acts permitted.

• 6 contestants will be selected to compete and showcase their talent at the LIFT event

 

🏆 Competition Format:

• Each selected performer will sing one cover song live on stage.

• 75% of the winner decision will come from a panel of jurors

• 25% will come from the audience vote

• So bring your family, friends, and fans to cheer you on!

🎛️ Tech & Equipment:

Mics and audio equipment provided

A full backline will be available: 2 guitar amps, bass amp, and drum kit

Performers must bring their own instruments and inform us in advance of any extra gear you’ll be bringing
